Judy Parkinson is the driving force behind Drawing Life, she is also a writer and artist. Here she conquers the fear of the blank page and shares her love of collage and figurative drawing, and how important it is to make a mess without worrying about creating an accurate representation. Everyone over about three years of age says, “I can’t draw.” This is a myth, if you can hold a pencil, you can make a mark and call it a drawing.

Sarah Evans is an abstract artist who keeps an eye on the budget. She raids the kitchen cupboards to make patterns and shapes on paper. She demonstrates all sorts of hints and tips on how to make marks with stuff you already have in the house. The shapes can be cut out and re arranged, stuck down to make collage and new patterns and then coloured in. The possibilities are endless and suitable for all ages.
